While you wait
The Waiting Room Plan
Waiting can feel uncertain. You don’t need a diagnosis to ask what might make everyday life easier. This guide offers gentle prompts, not an assessment or a substitute for professional advice.
Weeks 1–2 · Notice what is hard
Write down a few everyday moments that are difficult and what seems to help. Include your child’s own words or preferences when they want to share.
Weeks 3–4 · Ask about one small support
Choose one manageable adjustment to explore at home, school or nursery. Keep it flexible and check whether it helps.
Weeks 5–8 · Make room for recovery
Notice what helps after busy transitions. Offer a quieter landing, space or company according to the person’s preference.
Weeks 9–12 · Review and ask for help
Look back at what seems useful and what does not. Share relevant observations with school or a qualified professional if concerns continue.
Some plan steps vary by membership in Hearth’s original service. This preview shows a general free planning guide; it does not require sign-in or unlock paid features. For individual concerns, speak with a qualified professional.
